OK, here we go.
Here are my rules for now. I may make them stricter if I feel I can manage or if I get on a roll. Mmm… roll. Stop! OK, here:
- 2000 calories/day max (for starters)
- No high fructose corn syrup
- No hydrogenated or partially hydrogenated oils (no trans fat)
- Minimal saturated fat (vague, I know)
- No foods with over 50% calories from fat (goodbye whole milk cheese)
- No eating after 9:00 PM (drinking allowed)
A lot of this depends on being able to read labels, which I’ve used as an excuse in the past. “No label? Doesn’t count!” can’t be an excuse anymore. Nutrition facts are available for lots of prepared foods, and can be at least a good estimate. I’ll probably be most flexible with the 9:00 PM rule, because I just gotta eat dinner late sometimes. It’s mostly designed to curb late-night refridgerator raiding.
To do:
- Exercise more at the new Dave’s Gym
- Develop excercise plan like this diet plan
- Get a scale and weigh myself daily
- Get a pedometer and go for 10,000 steps/day
- Go for a few walks before it gets too cold
- Start parking on the far side of the lot at work
- Go shopping for myself again so I don’t have to only eat what’s available
Let’s see how this goes…
